The Coffin Dance meme, also known as the "Dancing Pallbearers", took the internet by storm in 2020. It features a group of Ghanaian pallbearers dancing with a coffin, set to the catchy tune "Astronomia" by Tony Igy, utilizing footage from a 2017 BBC documentary about the phenomenon. The dancing pallbearers are a group of Ghanaian pallbearers who perform elaborate and choreographed dances while carrying coffins during funerals. They have gained popularity for adding a unique element to the traditional funeral processions, aiming to celebrate the life of the deceased rather than mourn their passing.

In 2003, Benjamin Aidoo, the pallbearer service's leader, started out as a typical pallbearer service.
